Rosanna Terracciano dedicates her work to developing a distinct and personal voice at the intersection of flamenco, dance, contemporary performance and short film. Her creations are driven by an urgency to expose the vulnerable, introverted and muted sides of flamenco. The investigative basis of much of her creative practice is born from the delicate balance of continuing to practice in her hometown of Calgary, a city which — in equal parts — pushes her away, yet begs her to stay. Critical to her practice is her identity as an Italian-Canadian Calgarian, dedicated to uncovering the many possibilities of flamenco and always striving to give place to her work within the context of where she lives. Mostly, she creates to satisfy her relentless search for all things beautiful.
